Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea are going from bad to worse, languishing in fifth place and with there Premier League hopes all but over, last years champions are really on a downward spiral and following last nights humiliating defeat to an out of sorts and struggling Everton side on penalty's eliminating them from the FA.Cup, there only realistic hope of silverware this season is now the Uefa Champions League, yet with teams like Barcelona,Real Madrid and Premier league rivals Spurs and Manchester United still in the competition even that now looks unlikely, and as a result has seen many Chelsea fan's begin to call for the Italians head.
So what is to blame for the demise of this star studded Chelsea team.
Is it lack of investment?
After splashing out hundreds of millions of pounds during the Ranieri and Mourinho era's, Roman Abramovic seemed happy with the side he had created and Chelsea continued to succeed winning various titles along the way, however in recent seasons Abramovic refused to back the manager with the necessary funds to challenge and as a result with the club unable to challenge at the top of the Premier League and struggling to make it to a Champions League final his hand was forced and in January his hand was forced and he invested heavily in signing Fernando Torres from Premier League Rival's Liverpool and Brazilian international defender David Luiz From Benfica in Portugal for a Combined Fee of seventy million pounds.
But is it now to late to save Ancelotti?
Was it The Mysterious Sacking of Ray Wilkins?
Ray Wilkins exit from the bridge has clearly had a lasting effect on many of the players, since his departure things have taken a drastic turn for the worse.
Wilkins was known to be heavily involved in the taking of the training sessions within the club and was highly respected by the players, however this wasn't enough to save Wilkins and he was relived of his duties by club chairman Roman Abramovic.
Wilkins helped Ancelotti a lot both personally and tactically and was a massive reason behind the success in the Italians first season with the London club.
Chelsea's form has seen them slip down the league and be eliminated from both the FA and Carling Cups, since the departure of Wilkins, which now begs the question was the right man sacked?
Or Has Mr Ancelotti Lost the plot?
Carlo Ancelotti's arrival at Stamford Bridge was one of the most anticipated moves in world football, and for many seemed to pay off during his first season in charge. This was backed up with the blue's table topping performance's and eventual Premier League win.
With Drogba Terry And Lampard all playing pivotal role's in the club's success. many tried but failed to overthrow Chelsea at the top of the table many beaten convincingly along the way.
Chelsea continued there fine form at the beggining of this season beating the likes of West Brom and Wigan 6-0.
however since the sacking of Ray Wilkins Chelsea seem to have pressed the self destruct button and are falling at every hurdle. formations and player selections have left many fan's scratching there head's and the likes of Drogba have been on the bench, even club captian John Terry has been told his place in the side is no longer safe.
Will he run back to Italy?
Rumour has it that Roma want to save Ancelotti from his now English nightmare,so will he jump before he is pushed?
